Expert Instruction

With over 27 years of training and teaching experience in the martial arts, Sifu Chris Sprague has a unique method of training to offer all of his students.  Having trained in many styles of martial arts over the years, Chris finally decided upon kajukenbo to pursue as it offered the best all around approach to learning self-defense.  He stresses discipline and teaches a solid philosophy of self-control, respect, goal setting and commitment.  Students experience success and achieve recognition as they progress through the ranks.

The story behind Sifu Chris

Sifu Chris began his martial arts training at the age of 7.  As a child he was exposed to traditional Karate and Kung Fu. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and began his true martial arts quest. Studying numerous styles and recieving a black belt in Hapkido. He also trained in Muay Thai boxing, and Tae Kwon Do before finding Kajukenbo. Sifu Chris realized that Kajukenbo was what he had been looking for in a complete self defense system. Upon receiving his black belt in Kajukenbo he then went on to train in Brazialian JuJitsu under Helson Gracie and Kali under the late Miestro Snookie Sanchez. Sifu Chris is always looking for new ideas and theories to share with his students.  He believes in letting students grow and learn from others to better improve themselves, once they have mastered the basics.  Sifu Chris continues to train in Kajukenbo and is now  training in Serrada Escrima as well.
